After three and a half years, Pegman is hanging up his walking stick and going into retirement.
In the words of Johnny Cash:
I’ve been everywhere, man
I’ve been everywhere, man
Crossed the deserts bare, man
I’ve breathed the mountain air, man
Of travel I’ve had my share, man
I’ve been everywhere
I’ve been to Reno, Chicago, Fargo, Minnesota
Buffalo, Toronto, Winslow, Sarasota
Wichita, Tulsa, Ottawa, Oklahoma
Tampa, Panama, Mattawa, La Paloma
Bangor, Baltimore, Salvador, Amarillo
Tocopilla, Barranquilla, and Padilla, I’m a killer…
Thanks, everyone. It’s been a gas.
-Josh and Karen
Sorry to see you go, but good luck with you staycation.

NOOOOOO! Oh, I am heartbroken to see it end. It’s been such a wonderful run. I have truly enjoyed traveling all over the world with Pegman — and finding so many scenes that were “really” from Eneana, what a lovely surprise! And I loved reading the stories from you (Josh) and Karen, and the others regulars in our little family of writers. I appreciate all the work that both of you put into this, and I understand the desire to move on to do something else, although I’m horribly sad to see it go. Pegman has been my favorite writing prompt ever. In fact, my only one for a long time now. I’ll have to rethink what to do with my own blog now that I don’t have a Pegman story to post every Saturday, hmm…
I wish all the best for you, Josh and Karen, in your writing adventures and beyond. Keep us updated, and take care!

I’m going to continue Pegman on my own and refer folks to your site so they can discover your work. He’s too cool to let go!

Thank you for taking me around the world with you. I didn’t write many stories, but I always loved the look. Come to Friday Harbor sometime.

Poor little Pegman needs a break. Perhaps he’ll find a second career, or perhaps he’ll sit on the porch in his rocking chair and pick up knitting. Either way — thank you for the journey! Na’ama

Sorry to see you go. I haven’t had a lot of time to contribute, but it was a great prompt and I’m honored to have been a part of it. Happy trails.

It was a damn good ride. For some reason my words have dried up. Creativity is out the window. Thanks for doing this for as long as you did! Cheers, Lish

I agree with Josh–keep at it, Lish. You’ll only get to the other side if you keep on!

Dear Karen and Josh
Thank you for the work you’ve done curating Pegman. It’s been my favourite prompt of all, and it’s stimulated some excellent writing by some excellent writers, not least you two. I hope to read more of both your writing in the future.
Love
Penny xx

Thanks for the trips my friends . Time is a precious commodity that has to be valued and used in rewarding ways. Although you two provided a special way of allowing others to use their time creatively. Your own time is a special factor that needs to be appreciated. Thanks again.🙂☮️🎎

Farewell Pegman, may we meet again. Your journeys meant so much to me and Saturdays would be a little lonely without you now ❤

Aw, I just found you! Maybe you’ll come back as something new. I heard retirees get bored! Lol.

I really enjoyed the trips taken along with Pegman and am sorry to him hang-up his boots. All the best for the road ahead.

Thank you both so much for hosting this awesome challenge. I did not contribute for a while –(ran out of time to write flash fiction and have recently tried doing it again – “squeezing it in”) – but when I was a regular here it was wonderful.
I learned so much from the hosts, the entries, and enjoyed the different locations so much.
Thanks for 3.5 years of bringing literature to the blog community and best wishes to you both in your writing and living. 🙂 ~Yvette
