Stanley is a lovely place. It is on the very utmost north west point of Tasmania. It is very hilly. This town is renowned for a big rock called “The Nut”. It is said to be “Tasmania’s answer to Ayres Rock ( Uluru)” The thing I most remember about this town, which I visited some 30 odd years ago are the Baked filled potatoes. The potatoes are the size of a football. They roast or bake them, scoop out the middle and mix it with other ingredients before putting it back in the potato. Yum Yum. It is right near the best Dairy land in Tasmania. The cows there are so friendly. Down the west coast is some of the most rugged country side in the world. And yes, there are snakes, and a small animal called the Tasmanian devil, which you would know about from Bugs Bunny cartoons. Besides the sea eagles, these are the only things that would kill you in this part of the world. Enjoy writing about this wonderful town. I shall submit a story when I can.
