What Pegman Saw: Singapore

Today Pegman journeys to mystic port-o-call Singapore, a sovereign city-state in Southeast Asia. Though it was first noted in third-century Chinese accounts, the island of Singapore became an important trading hub for the East India Company during the 19th century. Rich in culture and history, the republic has become known as “the Switzerland of Asia.”
Feel free to stroll around until you find something that inspires you to write up to 150 words.

Vientiane, Laos

Today Pegman treks to Laos, a country with no major urban centers, modern highways, or railways. Nonetheless, this landlocked kingdom garnered the full attention of the US military for the better part of fifty years. Despite not being at war, the US Air Force dropped more bombs on Laos between 1960 and 1973 than on all of Europe and Japan combined during the entire Second World War.
